Cortical Flow: Adequate to maintain GFR
Medullary Blood Flow and Oxygen demand:
- Important for nephron cell survival and function (oxygen is required for ATP, used in trnasporters)
- Too high: Disruption of osmolar gradient of counter-current exchange mechanism
- Too low: hypoxic injury
