Anemia: lack of erythropoietin production
Bone marrow suppression:
- uremic poisons: leukocyte suppression - infection
- bone marrow fibrosis: elevated PTH an aluminum toxicity from dialysis
Increased bruising, blood loss (surgery) and hemorrhage
Lab Abnormalities: Prolonged bleeding time, abnormal platelet aggregation
