Hydroclimate Research Group The Tian Lab @ Auburn University

Opportunities

The Hydroclimate Research Group welcomes motivated students and researchers interested in advancing the understanding, observation, and prediction of terrestrial hydroclimate systems and extremes. Our research integrates hydrology, climatology, Earth observation, physics-based modeling, data science and AI.

Graduate Students: We welcome applications from students interested in pursuing Ph.D. research in hydroclimate science. Students with backgrounds in hydrology, atmospheric or climate science, environmental science or engineering, Earth science, remote sensing, data science, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Prospective students are encouraged to review our current research directions on the Research and Publication page. Research assistantships, including stipend and tuition support, are available for qualified students subject to funding availability.

Postdoctoral Researchers: Postdoctoral openings will be posted here when available. Researchers whose interests closely align with the group are also welcome to contact Dr. Tian to discuss opportunities to develop proposals for external postdoctoral fellowships.

Visiting Scholars and Students: Visiting scholars and students whose research interests align with the group are welcome to contact Dr. Tian to discuss potential collaborative opportunities, subject to research fit, funding, and administrative arrangements.

Undergraduate Students: Auburn undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience in hydroclimate science, Earth observation, hydroclimate modeling, or hydroclimate AI and data science are welcome to contact Dr. Tian about potential research opportunities.
