Convergent Manufacturing Research Lab (CMRL)

Welcome to Convergent Manufacturing Research Lab (CMRL) directed by Elham Mirkoohi at Auburn University. The cross-disciplinary research in CMRL spans mechanical engineering, materials science, and computer science. We seek creative convergence approaches in science, technology and innovation, computational modeling, and validation methods to address challenges in manufacturing. The convergent manufacturing research lab focuses on advancing the technologies and algorithms for the synthesis and production of new materials, devices, components, and systems to assure quality with a high yield at a reasonable cost. This will be accomplished by leveraging advanced AI and machine learning methods, cyber infrastructure, new approaches for mathematical and computational modeling, and new ways to integrate various systems.
