AIMS Migration Facility/Migration

Introduction

Prior to items being migrated into production, the selected entities must reside in the appropriate Mantis transfer bins. This is done under Test AIMS using either the AMT or AMI application.

Next, a person authorized to do migrations must be contacted. These individuals are generally the supervisors within the Applications area.

Migration

Migrations into production are done under Production AIMS using the AMF application. It is initiated by entering AMF-xxxx at the AIMS prompt, where xxxx is the Mantis library into which the entities will be moved. If entities are in multiple libraries, the AMF application must be invoked separately for each library.

AMF will give a list of all entities for the specified library that are in the Mantis transfer bin. Place an S to the left of the entities to be moved into production and press PF1 or PF13 to complete the migration. If the list of items in the bin is continued on more than one screen, complete the migrations from one screen before proceeding to the next screen.

If programs are being migrated, AMF can be slow. It must determine if a program has previously existed. If not, it must nominate the program for the shared program pool. It also must refresh the shared program pool for each program migrated.

After an entity is migrated into production, it is deleted from the transfer bin.
