Batch Job Documentation System
Overview
Objective
The AIMS batch job documentation system is designed to provide a means
of documenting production batch jobs.
Access
Anyone with access to AIMS has access
to the Batch Job Documentation System. Only those individuals who
maintain batch jobs have entry or update access.
Operation
The entry point for the system is
through the DJA AIMS application.
DJA provides a list of documented jobs. Selecting a
job will initiate the display process, starting with the Job Setup
application. Use of PF9 or PF21
will take an individual to the next application screen. For
individuals with inquiry access only, documentation application
screens with no data will be skipped. For individuals with update
access, these application screens will be displayed for purpose of
entry (if necessary).
An alternate entry point to the system is through the DJM submenu
application. This is a menu of all applications within the Batch Job
Documentation System.
Within any application (other than the Job
Selection/Index application) the job name may be overtyped to display
that screen for another job. PF4 or
PF16 will alternately return to the Job Selection
application for selection of a job. Selecting a job will return to
the application that called the selection application.
Some applications have multiple pages of data. This will be indicated
in the upper right portion of the screen. If more than one page of
data exists, PF8 or PF20 may be used to
page down one screen. PF7 or PF19 may
be used to page up one screen.
Job Selection
The Job Selection application has several search features. Searches
may be done on job name, application system and job description. A
search based on job name will start the selection list with the
portion of the job name entered. A search based on application system
is content sensitive. Thus a search for RS would
show applications from the FRS (Financial Records System) and HRS
(Human Resources System) areas. A list of application systems is
available on the DAS table, accessible through the
AIMS TBL application.
The search fields are located (unlabeled) right above the heading for
the field. Use the TAB key to proceed to the desired
search field.
