Batch Job Documentation System
Usage/Documentation Printing
Setup
Printing of documentation is quite simple. It uses standard AIMS
print techniques. A review of those is pertinent.
Printing under AIMS is controlled by the PRI
application. A default printer can be specified. If there is need to
change to a different printer for the current AIMS session, the
current printer can be changed. Whenever a person logs
onto AIMS, the current printer is set to
the default printer. AIMS printing is directed to
the current printer.
In addition, there is a field that specifies number of lines per page.
For a dot matrix printer, this setting should normally be
66. For a laser printer, this should normally be set to
60. Of course, these values can change depending on
printer and forms used.
Printing
To print documentation from the Batch Job Documentation System, the
Job Selection screen is used. Place a P to the left
of the job(s) to be printed and press enter.
Documentation for those jobs will be printed. To print documentation
for jobs on several different pages of the selection screen, repeat
this process on each screen.
Format
The format of the documentation will be similar to the AIMS screens.
One page will be printed for each screen which contains data. The
program counts lines and prints page headings based on the lines per
page specified through the PRI application. The page
count is cumulative for all pages. Under AIMS, the page count is
relative to the current application only.
Batch Printing
Documentation can also be printed in batch by using job AU5110. Any
number of jobs can be printed in one run. In addition, wildcarding
can be done using the asterisk (*) character, but only
trailing asterisks can be used. For example, BO1110, BO111*, AP1*** and
ES**** are all valid selections for printing, but BO*000 is not since it
uses an imbedded asterisk rather than a trailing
asterisk(s).
