Batch Job Documentation System
Procedures/Batch Procedures
Batch Processes
The following batch processes exist for the Batch Job Documentation
System:
- AU5110 - Generalized Documentation Print
- AU5115 - List Undocumented Jobs
- AU5120 - Update Documentation of Z-Versions
- AU5125 - Update Documentation of Output Distribution
- AU5130 - Application System Jobs
- AU5135 - Application System Jobs (Combined)
- AU5140 - Application System Jobs (By System)
AU5110: Generalized Documentation Print
This batch job is an on request job. It will print
documentation as requested. This job is designed to be for users who
wish to print documentation for a large number of jobs. Under such
circumstances, the online print capabilities are inadequate.
AU5115: List Undocumented Jobs
AU5115 is to help Production Control determine whether it has all the
documentation it needs to support production scheduling. It is
designated as an on request job and may be run as needed.
AU5120: Update Documentation of Z-Versions
AU5120 will update documentation of special setups (Z-Versions). It
will extract job descriptions from Panvalet comments and will replace
Z-Version documentation for documented jobs. It is designated as an
on request job, but may be run on a regular basis if deemed
appropriate. It is designed for use by Production Control.
AU5125: Update Documentation of Output
Distribution
AU5125 will scan jobs in the production Panvalet library (currently
PCP41) and will update information about forms, copies and output
destination. This job is designated as on on request job,
but may be scheduled on a regular basis if deemed appropriate. It is to
be used by Production Control.
The job must scan each line of JCL in the production Panvalet library.
As a result, it is very slow. Use of this job should eliminate the
need for user requests to change forms, copies and routing. In the
past, requests were necessary to insure that documentation stays
current. AU5125 will eliminate that need.
AU5130: Application System Jobs
In can be advantageous to produce a list of all documented jobs within
an application system. AU5130 requires one input parameter, the
application system. This parameter must reside on the DAS table. A
list will be produced of all documented jobs belonging to that
application system. If subsystems are documented on the DSS table,
the report will do a page break based on the application subsystem.
This is designated as an on request job and may be
rerun as needed.
AU5135: Application Job List (Combined)
AU5135 creates a list of all application jobs, sorted by application
system. This list is avaliable under SPX through the XRF
option. It should be scheduled weekly.
AU5140: Application System Jobs
AU5140 creates job lists by application system. Each defined system
(see the DAS table) has its own list. These lists
are accessible under SPX through the D.5 option. This
job should be scheduled weekly.
Nightly Procedure
Each night the documentation files need to be backed up. The backup
is accomplished through job AU5101. There is no need for the files to
be closed for the backup.
