Request Tracking System Documentation

Overview/Entry & Maintenance

The RTU Application

Creation and editing of requests for programming services occurs through use of the RTU (Request Tracking Update) application. This must be done in Production CICS. Requests in the Test CICS system are, at best, old copies of the production environment.

Once data has been entered or modified, press PF1 or PF13 to add or update the text. As with most AIMS screens, entry of ? in an entry field will display help for that field. Be sure to press PF1 or PF13 to update the request, and make sure the return message indicates the process was successful.

Once a request has been entered, extended descriptive text can be entered or edited by using the DESC PF key (currently PF5 or PF17). This will display an SPF-like editor for entering free-form extended text. The limit is 99 lines of entry.

Exit the editor by pressing PA2. If text has been entered or modified, a prompt will display asking whether the edited text should be saved. Once saved, it is accessible for redisplay or for editing.
