Migration Entry/Entry Fields
Global Fields
- Migration Date
- When entered, this establishes a date for the migration request.
Once the migration request is approved, it will not be acted upon until
the specified migration date is reached. If this field is left blank, it
will default to the current date, and will be acted upon as soon as it is
approved.
- Request #
- This field is used when editing a previously entered request. If a
migration request number that is pending migration is entered, that
request (if it exists) will be displayed for updating. If a new
migration request is entered, once updating has taken place, a number
will be assigned to the request and will be displayed in this field. If
an existing request is entered, automatic preceding zero-padding will
take place.
- Reference Number
- This is a 6 character free-form field that can be used as needed.
Normally, when used, it will contain the associated Request Tracking
reference number.
Request Fields
Each request permits a maximum of 12 members to be specified. Each
member has additional fields associated with the member, some of which
may be optionally entered. Use the help screen associated with the
migration entry panel for valid values.
- Language
- This field represents the language associated with the member to be
migrated. Valid values are contained on the BML table.
This field is informational only, and is automatically selected based on
the language type of the member in the specified Panvalet library.
- Load Proc
- This field is the load proc associated with the member. It is valid
only for Cobol and Assembly (ASMB) programs. For a list of valid load
procs, see the BMP table. If an SCT proc is specified,
the MGC table is used to assure and/or substitute the
correct proc.
- SCT System
- This field is the SCT system the member represents. This is only
valid when an SCT load proc is specified. Only the first letter of the
system needs to be specified. Valid values are on the
MGS table. This field is automatically determined by
the MGC table.
- Status
- This field is predetermined by the originating library and
is displayed for informational purposes only. If the originating library
is PCP40, PCP41 or PCP42, the member is to be deleted.
Any other library will have a status of enabled.
- Documentation Changes
- This field is valid only for JCL members. It indicates if revised
documentation exists for this job. Documentation changes
must be in place before entering the migration request.
The test documentation files are queried and this field is determined based
on the results of that query. It is informational only.
- Special Option
- This field is used for special processing options. Valid values are
on the MGO table, and includes, for example, JCL Procs.
JCL Procs must have a language type of OTHER.
