Mail Notifications/Migration Errors

During the migration process, errors should not occur. These are normally caught during migration request entry. However, it is possible that during the migration process, the member specified to be migrated does not exist in the transfer library. This may happen if a previous migration request migrated the same member, resulting in its deletion from the staging library. Certain JCL standards-conformance problems may also be detected during the migration process.

Should this occur, an email message will be generated to the individual who entered the migration request. In addition, none of the members on the migration request will be processed.

Instead, the request will be marked as having had an error during processing. The migration request entry process must be used to change the request (if necessary). Updating the request will clear the error flag, and it will be treated as a new migration request requiring normal approvals.

If the migration error causes a problem, when updating the request, it may have its status changed from normal to emergency (or vice versa) by using the appropriate update command.
