Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete members in PCP40, PCP41 or PCP42?
Select the appropriate library (PCP40, PCP41 or PCP42) on the entry library selection panel. Any member specified is automatically deleted during the next migration cycle.

I can't do emergency migrations. Why not?
The ability to do emergency migrations is restricted. These restrictions are on the BMA table under the E column. See your supervisor if you feel this is in error.

I can't approve migration requests. Why not?
The ability to authorize migrations is restricted. These restrictions are on the BMA table under the A column. See your supervisor if you feel this is in error.

How do I delete a migration request?
Deletion of pending and approved migration requests is done through the migration approval process. You may delete any migration request that you entered. In addition, if you have migration approval authority, you may delete any migration request.

How do I know when a migration has been completed?
Electronic mail is sent back to you to let you know the disposition of your migration request.

Electronic mail indicated a migration request was in error. What do I do now?
The errors should be reported to you in the electronic mail message sent to you. Correct the errors.

Now go into the migration entry function. Enter the request number. Now proceed to edit the request as necessary. Be sure to update the request when you are done. You may also delete the request if that is more appropriate.

When editing a request, the update will again send out electronic mail requesting approval (where appropriate).

What about documentation?
A broad question. Documentation is transferred into production only when JCL is migrated. If documentation exists in the test system, YES is automatically specified when migrating that JCL. When documentation is migrated, it is automatically deleted from the test migration system.
