Rejecting God does not nullify His existance but your relationship with Him.
1. No one can be sure there is no God but through the creation we can know God.
2. If there is a God who is the Creator, what does He have to do with us?
3. Our performance oriented society is lying to us.
4. Why did God create sin?
5. If God is fair, why are there so many disasters?
6. Is Christianity too intolerant and narrow minded?
7. If we are created by God and not evolved, why are there so many evidences to prove evolution?
8. If I see God face to face, then I will believe.
9. Once I understand God and know Him, I will believe in Him.
10. What is wrong with believing in evolution?
11. What difference does it make? I thought all religions are good and take people to the same result.
No one can be sure there is no God but through the creation we can know God.
To say there is no God is to say you have enough knowledge to know there is no God. But an atheist can never have enough knowledge to be certain there is no God. He or she would have to know everything, because if there is something outside his or her area of knowledge, that something could include God. ... No atheist can claim total knowledge, therefore atheism is self-refuting, because knowing everything and being everywhere is to be like God. Therefore no one can prove 'there is no God' but there are many evidences for His existence. Romans 1:20 (Creation Magazine, vol 17, No. 2, p.52, 1995).
A desk-top computer is a product of work and effort of thousands of engineers and scientists. The capability of a desk-top computer is still no comparison with our human brain. It is hard to believe on one hand that human "evolve" by chances while on the other hand that a computer is designed and created by engineers.
The probability of the chance formation of a hypothetical functional 'simple' cell, given all the basic ingredients, is acknowledge to be worse than 1 in 10 to the power of 57800. (Creation, vol. 17, no.2, p.14)
If there is a God who is the Creator, what does He have to do with us?
As a designer, I love my design. I always think that my design is good. And I know all the details I put in my design. If God is the Creator, He loves His creation more than I love my design. Moreover, He knows exactly the purpose of our life. If I want to know my purpose of my life, the only way is to ask my creator and he must have the answer.
Every design has a purpose. If a design is misused, the designer would be unpleased. The design will not be fulfilling its purpose of existence neither. To live a fulfilling life is to function in God's will and to please God.
A good designer cannot tolerate faults. Our God cannot tolerate misconducts. All misconducts are called sins and separate us from our God the Creator.
It does not stop here. God still loves us but he cannot pretend our sins do not exist. So He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to come and died for us. The third day after he died, God raised Him up. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (Romans 4:25) All we need to do is to admit that we are sinners and repent from sinning, believe in Jesus and trust Him to be our Saviour (to take the punishment we deserve) and our Lord (Master), and confess our sins to God for forgiveness. Our relationship with God will then be restored. And He will give us a new life.
Our performance oriented society is lying to us.
We are all raised in a performance oriented society teaching us that doing good can cover misconduct. Most religions in this world are teaching the same basic principle: good deeds can compensate wrong doings. However, in eternity misconducts will only add up and can never be undone. Doing good is always our responsibility (something we all are supposed to do). I cannot tell my family that I have taken up my responsibility to feed them so I am entitled to act wrong. In fact, we are accountable for everything we do and one day we have to face God. Since there is no way to undo wrong doing, self-saving by good deeds is a lie.
The scripture says: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that on one can boast. Ephesians 2:8,9
Why did God create sin?
God DID NOT create sin. Man chose to sin. God granted freedom of choice because of His true Love. If I program my five year old boy (sometime I wish I could) to love me, his love is not genuine. If he has the option to choose me or someone else to be his father and he chooses me, then that shows his love to me.
If God is fair, why are there so many disasters?
Firstly, since sin enter the world we started to have disasters. Disasters are consequences of sin, not consequences of God's creation.
Secondly, God's fairness is at the point that whoever sin against Him will be eternally separated from Him. God's fairness is at the judgment not at the salvation. Salvation is grace (a gift) to whom wants to accept. Therefore salvation is not for everyone but only those who accept Jesus Christ as personal saviour.
One thing shows God's fairness is that we all came empty handed and leave empty handed (1 Timothy 6:7). And one day we all have to face God for judgment.
Is Christianity too intolerant and narrow minded?
Firstly, Jesus is the only one proclaims: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Secondly, truth is always narrow. Can you accept 2+2=5 to be tolerant? Or put water in your automobile's gas tank to be tolerant?
Thirdly, Christian absolutes have been diluted or removed as the basis of society and replaced with a world view that ssays, "we do not have to accept that the Christian way of doing things (basing our world and life view on Biblical principles) is the only way; we must tolerate all religion beliefs and ways of life." However, this "tolerance" means an intolerance of the absolutes of Christianity. (The Lie, Ken Ham 1987, p.3) If you are really open minded, you must tolerate the absolutes of Christianity. Otherwise, you are as intolerant as Christians.
If we are created by God and not evolved, why are there so many evidences to prove evolution?
Firstly, there is no evidence to support evolution at all, nor no one has ever or can ever prove evolution. Evolution is a belief, a theory and a lie, not a proved fact. Who would have a life span of million years to prove evolution? Some scientists observed some facts and made hypothesis (assumptions), but never repeated a process of evolution in the laboratory.
Secondly, evolutionists use similarities between creatures to support evolution. From a designer's point of view, the similarities show the consistency and efficiency of God's design. A good design solution can be applied over and over for similar problem/function. It would be very inefficient if every design solution is unique even for similar function. There may be many style or look of bridges but the number of applied basic principles and structures are a few. "Similarities found in creatures" is the signature of God's design.
If I see God face to face, then I will believe.
When you make such a statement, please honestly ask yourself these questions:
1. If God exists and shows Himself to you, will you be able to stand before Him (a holy and just God)?
2. Do you really think you eyes are the only means to sense God?
3. What is the scale between you and God?
1. If we are who we are as the bible says: no one can stand before God without the mediator Jesus Christ becuase of our sins.
2. Our eyes are so limited in terms of sensing the physical world, not to mention the spiritual realm. Besides visible matters, there are so many other things that your eyes cannot sense. You can sense God with your spirit not with your vision. Just like you do not use your nose to see or your tongue to smell. It will be silly to say that if I cannot see or detect microwaves I do not believe it exist. Or it would be ridiculous to say that I do not need a TV to receive the broadcast and I insist to use my eyes to receive it. If I don't see it, it does not exist.
3. If God is the one who created the whole universe, do you really believe that you can see him face to face? Scale wise it would be impossible. It would be hard for an ant to see me as a whole when I stand right before it. Size wise we are just too much different. God is much bigger than a human to an ant.
See what the scripture says:
No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only who is at the Father's side, has made him know. (John 1:18)
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -- his eternal power and divine nature -- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)
Once I understand God and know Him, I will believe in Him.
A created being can NEVER comprehend his Creator. A Creator must be greater and superior than his created being. We can never fully understand God. We cannot even use our logic to describe God completely, because He created our logic too. So he must be more than our logic. Many people tried to explain the concept of Triune God (Trinity). I believe we can never explain it fully since it is greater than our comprehension. All come down to is human's pride: wanting to know and explain everything -- like God. That is the same reason why man disobeyed God in the first place. As the scripture says in 1 Corinthians 2:11 -- For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
However, we can know God as much as He has revealed to us, and what he has revealed to us is sufficient for us to have a personal relationship with Him if we choose to know Him through Jesus Christ the Mediator. Roman 1:19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. What is wrong with believing in evolution?
Firstly, no one can prove the past with the present. Faith is the only way.
Secondly, evolution is NOT science. No one can or will prove the theory of evolution because no one can repeat the process in a laboratory. Evolution is purely a theory without proof. To believe in evolution takes faith, so it is a religion.
Thirdly, life has no value or meaning in the theory of evolution. We all are the outcome of chances.
Fourthly, to accept evolution, one should also accept the consequences that evolution brings. Nazism, Racism, Teorrorism, ..., and the list goes on. They all are based on the theory of evolution: "Survival of the Fittest".
Finally, the theory of evolution is built on a dangerous assumption of only gradual changes of environment happened in the past for a long long period of time. It does not allow any catastrophy to happen in the past, or the theory would collaspe. Time and gradual changes are critical factors to the whole theory.
What difference does it make? I thought all religions are good and take people to the same result.
No, not all religions are good and they are not the same neither. If there are conflicts in beliefs among religions, they cannot be all right. The only options we have are either all religions are wrong, or some religions are wrong. Religions with false teachings is leading people away from the truth and therefore they are not good. You may find more answers to your question at Christian Answers.Net
Here are some major differences between Buddhism and Christianity:
Buddhism Christianity Do not have the concept of God. There is only one God who created the universe. Do good works to gain heaven. Trust in Jesus and Him alone to restore the relationship with God and gain heaven. Never know if you achieve heaven in this life. Assurance of the hope of salvation and heaven. You may have to come back to work again and again. We only have one life and our spirit last in eternity. Buddha is dead and buried. Jesus lives and promised to come back for us.
