Directions: Practice saying your responses out loud in Russian. Pay special attention to the accent. Check your grammar carefully. Reply with complete sentences. You may print or record your responses and hand the exercise to an instructor to be checked for accuracy.
  1. Tell someone you want to give them (as a gift) some [object].
  2. Tell someone that today is your birthday.

  6. Ask your friend where he/she went today.
  7. Tell your friend what you bought at the store.
  8. Ask your friend what he/she wants to do.
  9. Wish someone happy birthday.
  10. Say one thing that you did not used to have.
  11. Tell someone your age.
  12. Tell someone the age of any one of your relatives.
  13. Ask someone what is the profession of any one of their relatives.
  14. Ask a salesperson if they have books on [subject].
  15. Find out from your friend if he/she has a roommate.
  16. Tell someone what you have to do today.
  17. Tell someone one thing that's difficult for you to do.
  18. Tell someone one thing that's easy for you to do.
  19. Tell someone what kind (on what subject) books you like.
  20. A friend shows you [object]. Tell him/her that you like their [object].
