Expressing Resebmlance
Russian uses the word
похож, похожа, похожи
to express resemblence.
The person who resembles (looks like) someone else is the subject of the sentence.
You use a form of
похож
to match the gender and number of the subject.
The second person in the resemblance is in the
accusative case
.
Брат похож на сестру.
Recall that masculine animate nouns in the
accusative
take the same endings as in the
genitive
.
Сестра похожа на брата.
