Simple Goat Feeder
Goats are bad about wasting as much feed as they consume! They
will constantly stand on the hay that you feed them or in the trough in
which you place their supplement, thus anything you can do to limit their
access to getting in/on the feed will be of great value. An excellent
way to feed them a supplement is to take a 20-foot length of 6" PVC pipe
and cut it in half lengthwise. You will now have 2, 20-foot long feeders
that can be suspended about 14" off of the ground with lengths of chain
to some above rafters or whatever will support them. The 6" pipe that
swings will nearly eliminate the goats from getting their feet into the
feed trough and wasting feed. You notice that I said nearly, there
is always an exception to the rule.
