Quadrilateral construction

| Begin by drawing an arbitrary quadrilateral. |
| Construct the midpoints of each side. |
| Connect the midpoints to form another polygon. |
| Use the construct quadrilateral interior option under the construction
menu to construct the interior of both the original quadrilateral and the
quadrilateral formed by the midpoints. |
| Under the measure menu use the perimeter and area options to calculate
the area and perimeter of both quadrilaterals. |
| Calculate the ratio of the area and perimeter of the smaller quadrilateral
to the larger quadrilateral using the calculate option under the measure
menu. |
| It will also be helpful to draw the diagonals of both quadrilaterals.
Select opposite points on the quadrilateral. Under the construct menu select
segment. |
| Under the measure menu use the perimeter and area options to calculate
the area and perimeter of both quadrilaterals. |
| Under the measure menu use the length option to calculate the length of
the diagonals. |
