The perimeter of the smaller triangle is ½ the perimeter of the original triangle.

The perimeter of the original triangle is A+B+C. The perimeter of the smaller triangles is a+b+c. Since we used midpoints a= ½ A, b = ½ B, and c = ½ C.
Therefore, a+b+c = ½ (A+B+C).
