How to load Poptools on lab computers
Poptools should already be installed on all lab computers. However, it is not
loaded by default, and therefore in order to use Poptools you first need to load
it into Microsoft Excel. Here are the directions to do so:
- In Microsoft Excel, click the downward facing arrow at the very top of
the screen near the left edge.
- Near the bottom of the list that pops up, choose 'More Commands...'
- A box titled 'Excel Options' pops up. From the list on the left side,
choose 'Add-Ins'
- At the bottom of the box, where it says "Manage:" and in a list box
"Excel Add-Ins", click the "Go..." button
- If there's a checkbox for 'Poptools', make sure it's checked and click
the "OK" button. If not, got on to step 6
- An 'Add-Ins' pop up replaces the 'Excel Options' pop up. From the
buttons on the right, click the "Browse..." button.
- A "Browse" box pops up. Browse to the Poptools add-in. It's located at
C:/Program Files/PopTools/
- Double click on the PopTools add-in listed in the folder.
- That's it, you're done!
