national interest in the Mideast starts with military aid to Israel based on
lobby spending in Congress. Israel should afford its own national defense. Most of the population in the Mideast immigrated following
World War II when the Allies drew borders to split ethnic groups. The locals
should now settle their own borders as central Europe has done.
