Proximity to Auburn’s Campus
Kiesel Park:

Kiesel Park is Auburn’s largest park. It has convenient parking, an easily accessible 2.4 mile walking trail a fenced in dog park, and a dog obstacle course . The pavilion, garden and pond found at Kiesel is aesthetically pleasing. It is located about 4 miles from Campus. It is only open during daylight hours, and normally sees a regular flow of exercisers.

Town Creek Park

Town Creek Park is located about 2 miles from campus. Convient parking leads to a .87 mile walking trail that leads to additional trail being built around a pond. The pond, well manicured trail, pavilions, convient restrooms, picnic tables, and benches all add to the parks aesthetics. At the trailhead there is a waterfountain along with a minature fountain for pets. The well kept concrete and gravel trails are within close range to the parking area.

General Mundy Fitness trail

General Mundy’s Fitness Trail is located on campus near the Graphic Design buildings located off West Samford. It consists of a 1.2 mile trail leading through the woods that wind around a pond. Pull up balls are also available at either beginning or end of the trail. To get to the trailhead there is a short walk through a field, and is not clearly seen from the parking lot or road.

Chewacala

Chewacala State Park’s 696 scenic acres(http://www.alapark.com/parks/park.cfm?parkid=14) are located approximately 4 miles from Auburn’s campus. Despite the 2-3$ entry fee it is easily accessible. It has 8 different trails that take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to walk. Due to the Parks large area it may be important to be cautious when using trails.

Sidewalk on Wire Road

The sidewalk on wire road is very visible, with plenty of parking at the soccer fields. It’s a 1.3 mile sidewalk with plenty of room for bicyclers and walkers or joggers. It’s far enough off the road to not to have to worry about cars, but not very well lit. There are small inclines to make it a little more challenging.
