3. The following is a dialogue from an English textbook. Study the dialogue carefully and then answer this question: Which approach do you think is adopted in this textbook, the audiolingual method or communicative language teaching? Explain why.

A:	You know, I owe you an apology.
B:	What for?
A:	You must have been very angry with me yesterday.
B:	I don't understand. Why should I have been angry with you?
A:	Don't you remember? We had planned to see a movie yesterday, but I completely forgot!
B:	Don't worry about it. Actually, I owe YOU an apology.

4. Design a teaching activity that belongs to one of the four types of communicative activities we discussed in class. The activity should be appropriate for intermediate-level learners of English as a second language. The activity should include
a) instructions for the students (descriptions of what the students are supposed to do),
b) the language material to be used (e.g., a dialogue or story for the students to listen to or read), and
c) other information or material (e.g., a map, a menu, a set of pictures) needed to complete the activity.

5. Choose three of the methods we have discussed. Identify a classroom activity that is important and/or unique to each of them. Briefly describe each activity and explain how this activity reflects the pedagogical principle or theoretical foundations of the method it is associated with.
