4. Procrustes Fit
The first step in a morphometric analysis is to extract shape information by Procrustes superimposition on the data set. MorphoJ runs a full Procrustes fit and projects the data onto tangent space. To run a Procrustes fit select the Mormyrid data set under the Project Tree window, select Preliminaries menu and click on New Procrustes Fit which opens the following dialog box:
There are 3 choices in this dialog box and the default is aligning by principal axes. After selecting the default click Perform Procrustes Fit and it does give a consensus for all the landmarks. It also shows a graphical representation of the data clouds for each individual landmark.
