Books on Audio and Video Collections: The Essentials

Mason-Robinson, Sally (1996). Developing and Managing Video Collections. New York: Neal-Schuman.
Provides an excellent overview of how to create and maintain your video collection. This is your best bet if you’re looking for a “how-to” kind of book.

Media Librarianship (1985). Edited by John W. Ellison. New York: Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc.
Includes a collection of articles provides a great foundation to the area of media librarianship.

Video Collection Development in Multi-type Libraries: A Handbook. (2002) Edited by Gary Handman. Westport, CT.: Greenwood Press.
Considered “the” textbook on this topic it includes chapters by different authors. This is your best bet for breadth and depth.
