Airports

If traveling by air, the most convenient airports are in Atlanta, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama.  The airport in Birmingham, Alabama may also be an alternative.


Atlanta, Georgia - Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (IATA code:  ATL)

- The Atlanta airport is one of the busiest passenger airports in the world and a major international hub from Europe and Asia.

- There are many options for rental cars and airport shuttles between Auburn and the Atlanta airport.

- IMPORTANT:  Atlanta is the the US Eastern time zone (GMT -4:00) and Auburn is in the US Central time zone (GMT -5:00).  Please be sure the take that into account when making your travel plans to ensure you have enough time to return to the airport.

- By car, it is approximately 100 miles (160 km) or about 1 hour and 45 minutes between the Atlanta airport to Auburn.


Montgomery, Alabama - Montgomery Regional Airport (IATA code:  MGM)

- The Montgomery airport is a smaller regional airport that connects to larger hubs in Atlanta (Delta Airlines), Charlotte (US Airways), and Dallas (American Airlines).

- As a smaller airport, Montgomery is generally less crowded, but it has fewer amenities.

- Rental cars and airport shuttles are available between Auburn and the Montgomery airport.

- By car, it is approximately 63 miles (102 km) or about 1 hour and 15 minutes between Auburn and the Montgomery airport.

- Montgomery is in the same time zone at Auburn (US Central time zone).


Birmingham, Alabama - Birmingham-Shuttlesword International Airport (IATA code:  BHM)

- The Birmingham airport is a mid-sized airport that connects to larger airline hubs in the US including Delta Airlines, US Air, United, American Airlines, and Southwest Airlines .

- Airport shuttles are NOT AVAILABLE between Auburn and the Birmingham airport.

- Ground transportation is available ONLY via rental cars.

- By car, it is approximately 115 miles (185 km) or about 2 hours between Auburn and the Birmingham airport.

- Birmingham is in the same time zone at Auburn (US Central time zone).
